Spinal Flow Technique And The Base Gateway

The Spinal Flow Technique and the Base Gateway

The Base Gateway

Composed of up to five small segments of fused bone, the coccyx bone forms the last vertebra of the spine. This is the base of the central nervous system, which comprises the brain and spinal cord - a column of nerve tissue running from the base of the skull to the bottom of the spine. The Spinal Flow Wave runs the entire length of the spine delivering life force to and communicating with, every cell of our body.

The connective tissue that protects the entire spinal cord is the same tissue that protects the brain. In fact, this tough membrane called the dura mater surrounds the entire central nervous system like a balloon. Beneath it are two thinner, more delicate layers, housing blood vessels and cerebrospinal fluid. This is where the magic happens. But it can also be where it stops.

If the Base Gateway becomes blocked, it shuts down the rest of the spine and other spinal gateways, placing stress on our entire nervous system.

The human body responds to stress by tucking our coccyx (or tailbone) underneath. This engages the fight/flight stress response, which then impacts hormone levels, circulation, reproduction, digestion, immune response, physical and emotional health, open expression, and creative thinking - our entire quality of life becomes shut down. When the coccyx tucks under, the dura mater is stretched and the vital flow of energy and information between our brain and nerve fibers is suppressed.

When the tailbone is tucked under, our central nervous system’s ability to function is severely diminished, as is our capacity for healing.

Having your tailbone tucked under also affects your breath. Not only does it reduce the amount of oxygen entering your body, but it also impairs your body’s ability to heal itself. Healing cannot happen when the body is dominated by the fight/flight response of the sympathetic nervous system.

Signs of a blockage in the Base Gateway

Common conditions arising from a blocked base gateway include depression, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, stress, neurological disorders, pain, weakness in the legs, and various auto-immune diseases.
